Christmas Single Download

To help celebrate Christmas we at camp SB have decided to write, record, and give away our Christmas themed song 'Don't Be Alone (This Christmas) for FREE. It's a mid paced, piano led, festive smash including saxophones, sleigh bells and an anti austerity message. What more could you ask for from Santa?

Hover over the player and the download option should pop up. All you need to do is follow the instructions and the song is yours to enjoy for ever more for FREE.

It was written with the help of Boombox Ballads arranger Paul Jones and recorded by Iwan Morgan at press play studios in London with additional recording at his home, my home, Charlie Francis' home (he recorded the vocals), and includes a multitude of fantastic musicians over it's 3 and a half minutes. Special mention goes to Avvon Chambers for playing the two's and four's and keeping us in time and to Louise Mason at Sawn-Off for the lovely Cover.

Please feel free to pass on to whoever might like to listen and I hope you have a lovely Christmas.

New Ep and February Tour

The Christmas song will also be included as part of a new ep, called Dennis, which will be released in February next year. I know, releasing a Christmas song in February is a strange thing to do, but it's a strange collection of songs which are like a scruffy little brother to The Boombox Ballads. I'm glad the songs are seeing the light of day. It includes live staples 'We used to Call him Dennis' and 'Do the Buzzard'.

If you click on the artwork you can read more about the ep.

You can pre-order the vinyl here

To celebrate we are going on tour in February. Go to the gigs page for more details. At the moment there are still a few gaps we'd love to fill. If you're interested please get in touch we're looking for weird and wonderful places.

Amazing Tapes From Canton

We at camp SB have started a label called 'Amazing Tapes from Canton. So far we have released The Boombox Ballads (Cassette Edition) and an amazing album by New Zealand born, New York resident, and Sweet Baboo collaborator, the beautiful, Daniel Ward who records and plays music under the name Droor.

You can buy both albums here

The label was set up as an (occasional) labour of love to release things we like. There will be a couple more releases planned for 2016 I hope, maybe not all on tape.

The Insatiable, Inflatable, Candylion

It is with great pride to say that I am walking the boards for the first time ever in Gruff Rhys' Insatiable, Inflatable, Candylion. It's a collaboration between Gruff Rhys, director Wils Wilson and writer Tim Price for National Theatre Wales and I for on am very excited about it.

It is being performed at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff from the 16th of December to the 2nd of January.

I play a half sledge half hedgehog character called Sledgehog and am currently deep in the midst of rehearsals. I even learnt a dance, although I reckon that's 50/50 if it makes it to the first performance.

All the info if you click on Candylion.
